Zacharaya Finds a Castle
This story is about a mouse, named Zacharaya. He goes on a summer camp with his best friend, Jacon. They go exploring around, and then a bird takes Zacharaya into the air, when the little mouse pricks the bird’s foot and the bird let’s go of him, the little mouse finds himself near a castle.
Zacharaya is a mouse. He lives with his mother, father and two sisters. Mr. Headlings, Mrs. Headlings, Meya and Rachel. Zacharaya isn’t a small mouse; he is big enough to take care of himself. Let’s just say, Zacharaya is a meen (instead of teen) and Rachel is a mween (instead of tween).
It was summer. Zacharaya woke up. He put on his red shirt and blue trousers, combed down his tuft of hair and came out of his bedroom. ‘Good morning daddy’, Zacharaya greeted as he passed by his father who was reading the newspaper. ‘Good morning’, Mr. Headlings replied.
Zacharaya sat on the breakfast table, where his mother had placed a glass of milk and some cheese. Rachel came for breakfast just then. Meya had gone to mouse school.
After breakfast, Zacharaya went out of the front door. Now he was in the green lawn, where a small pool, the size of the mice was built.
There were no cats in this household, so Zacharaya’s family as well as many other mice families were living in peace.
‘I know, what I can do’, Zacharaya exclaimed to himself, ‘I am going for a summer camp’. Now he found something, he could spend his time doing. He lay down on the soft green grass and fell asleep.
‘Zac!’, someone tapped on his shoulder. Zacharaya woke up and saw Meya, who had just arrived from school. ‘Mummy, is calling us for lunch’, Meya said. ‘I’m coming’, Zacharaya replied.
When Zacharaya sat for lunch, he told everyone his plans. ‘I want to come too’, Meya said. ‘No, this is my own holiday’, Zacharaya retorted obstinately. ‘You can go my dear’, Mrs. Headlings replied. ‘Oh!, thank you’, Zacharaya said happily, ‘I’ll start packing right away’.
Zacharaya made a list of things he needed, ‘Tent- check’, he was saying, ticking the things in his notebook, ‘Food- check, camera- check, blanket- check. . . ‘Zacharaya was interrupted by a tap on his bedroom door. It was Jacon, Zacharaya’s best friend.
‘What are you up to?’, Jacon asked as both of them, were taking a stroll in the garden. ‘I am going on my own summer camp’, replied Zacharaya, ‘You can come too’. ‘Wow. Thanks’, Jacon thanked, ‘What time?’. ‘Tomorrow morning’, Zacharaya replied.
After Jacon had gone home at four, Zacharaya spent the rest of his day in the garage. Who knows what he was doing?
The following day, Zacharaya was waiting for Jacon. Jacon arrived puffing. ‘Hope am not late’, panted Jacon. ‘Nope’, Zacharaya assured, taking Jacon to the garage. ‘Wow!!!’ Jacon gasped. Zacharaya had spent his day, yesterday making a vehicle for him and Jacon to travel in.
It was kind of like a mouse car. There were seats in it and the roof and windows were of glass, which could be automatically opened. Zacharaya pressed a red button on a remote, he was holding and the antennae on the vehicle blinked and the roof opened. Jacon and Zacharaya got in, throwing their backpacks into the back seat. Zacharaya pressed a blue button on the dashboard and the roof close. ‘Cool!!!’, Jacon exclaimed. Mr. Headlings, Mrs. Headlings and Rachel were standing by the front door. Zacharaya took hold of a knob and pulled it, when he pulled it, it came out, with a long string, that’s how the car started, there was no steering wheel. Zacharaya had to keep pulling the string for the motor to run.
Zacharaya’s family waved as he drove away, Zacharaya waving too.
Two hours later, Meya came home from school. Mrs. Headlings was working I the garden, Mr. Headlings, was nowhere to be see, so Meya went to find Rachel. ‘Where’s Zac?’, Meya asked. ‘He went on his summer camp, with Jacon’, Rachel replied.
Meya felt bored. Zacharaya was the only one who played with her and Rachel never wanted to. Meya went to her brother’s rom. She noticed a piece of paper on the table. Picking it up she read : ‘Meya, I’ll be home soon. In the meantime, you can have my room. Love, Zac’. ‘Yippee!’, Meya jumped. She always had to share Rachel’s room, now she could have her own room until Zacharaya arrived.
Meanwhile, Zacharaya and Jacon had arrived at their destination, just perfect for a summer camp, and they were having something to eat.
After eating, Zacharaya and Jacon set up their tent and then went around in the car to take pictures and explore. Zacharaya found tiny wild flowers, which his mother greatly loved. It would be just perfect for her to plant.
Zacharaya and Jacon parked the car under a tree and went walking. While walking, the two friends, heard the flapping of wings and whoosh!, Zacharaya was lifted off his feet. It was a bird, it had taken Zacharaya. Jacon began running to where the bird was taking Zacharaya.
Zacharaya was shaken too much, that he almost felt like vomiting. He could not take it anymore. He pricked the bird’s foot with his stick and it let go of, Zacharaya.
‘Oh! No!’, Zacharaya slapped his forehead. He was now falling and falling. Zacharaya closed his eyes and then Splash!, he had fallen into water. Jacon came running just then. ‘Zac are you alright?’, he asked, helping his friend out of the water. ‘Yes’, replied Zacharaya looking around.
They were near a castle. ‘Guess this is where the ancient mice Kings and Queens lived’, explained Jacon. ‘We can go in, if my car was here’, Zacharaya said. ‘I brought it’, Jacon replied, ‘The bird was too fast to catch up so, I drove your car’.
Zacharaya climbed into his car, followed by Jacon. Zacharaya then drove the car to the moat’s edge, it had been raining lately, so the moat was full of water and then he let the car fall into the water. ‘What are you doing?’, screeched Jacon. As soon as the car hit the water, Zacharaya pressed a green button and the vehicle’s wheels turned into floats. ‘Awesome!’, Jacon exclaimed.
The car reached the other side of the moat, as the drawbridge was up, the only way in was a gap in the walls. Zacharaya anchored the car and went through the gap with Jacon. What a glorious sight it was. ‘Looks like the perfect place for pictures’, Zacharaya said. ‘And for a summer camp’, added Jacon.
